What is UPI Fee Calculator?

UPI Fee Calculator helps you estimate the visible cost of a UPI payment in India from both sides: what the individual pays and what the merchant may absorb.

Why this exists

UPI fee rules can be confusing because the cost depends on payment amount, merchant type, and whether the payment is made from a bank account or a credit card on UPI. This site keeps those calculations simple and readable.

What it covers

The calculator covers bank-account UPI rules, selected merchant categories, GST on processing charges where shown, and an editable estimate for RuPay credit card on UPI.

How we verify fees

Maintained by Shankar Madeshvaran. We check NPCI publications, Ministry of Finance announcements, and published bank or payment-provider schedules. Provider-specific rates are labelled separately from nationwide rules. Sources, effective dates, and verification dates are available on the Resources page.

To report an incorrect calculation or outdated source, open a GitHub issue with the payment type and source document. Please omit bank, card, and UPI account details.

Privacy

The calculator runs in your browser. The site does not need your name, UPI ID, bank account, or card details to calculate a fee estimate.
