What is UPIFees.in?

UPIFees.in is an independent informational utility for understanding the actual cost of UPI transactions in India from customer and merchant perspectives.

Why it exists

UPI pricing can involve payment instruments, merchant categories, thresholds, MDR, GST, caps, and exemptions. The 2026 select P2M MDR framework makes those distinctions more important, so this site keeps the publicly verifiable rules readable without turning them into marketing copy.

How calculations work

Calculations are generated from a versioned regulatory dataset. The current dataset is 2026-09-16.upi-mdr-framework-v2, effective from 15 Oct 2026 and last verified on 16 Sept 2026.

Data sources

UPIFees.in uses primary official publications from NPCI, RBI, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, and CBIC where available. Rules that cannot be verified from public official sources are documented as unresolved and are not presented as authoritative calculator categories.

The current calculator focuses on direct UPI P2M MDR effective from 15 October 2026. PPI wallet UPI, RuPay credit-card UPI, and other credit-linked flows can follow separate pricing frameworks and are not mixed into this dataset.

Privacy

The calculator runs in your browser. Exact transaction amounts are not stored by the site and should not be sent for analytics. The planned analytics architecture uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and aggregate product events only; amount analytics use buckets rather than exact amounts.
